🎵 To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Netlabel Day, the netlabel Mahorka invited many of the artists that have released with them over the last 20 years to be a part of a special project. This project being a big collaborative album where these artists would make songs together, some of them working together for the very first time!
🤝 Tawdry Otter & I were paired up to blend our sounds and styles together to create something fun and experimental. “Centauri Night Ride” is the result.
🪐 This song takes place in a city from a distant planet at night where the scenes and soundscapes of the city are controlled by vinyl records. This system isn’t perfect as these records can sometimes skip, changing the scenery in a split second.
🎷 We mixed styles and influences from latin, jazz, house, and IDM, chopping it all up into something weird, yet familiar at the same time.
🎤 Special thanks to Toryn for providing vocal samples for us to chop and glitch up!
💿 This track is part of the special collaborative compilation by Mahorka called “ Making Things Happen.” The compilation is available for free download on the netlabel’s Bandcamp and website!
